Grade 2 Finished Hex Nuts Hot Dipped Galvanized

CURRENT SELECTIONS

Grade 2 finished hex nuts are six-sided threaded fasteners made from low-carbon steel and are hot-dip galvanized for enhanced corrosion resistance. Key specifications and characteristics may vary based on product size.

  • Dimensions:
    • Thickness: Approximately (0.875D), where (D) is the nominal size of the nut.
    • Width Across Flats: (1.5D).
  • Material Composition:
    • Made from low carbon steel with the following chemical composition:
      • Carbon: Maximum 0.47%
      • Phosphorus: Maximum 0.12%
      • Sulfur: Maximum 0.23%
  • Mechanical Properties:
    • Tensile Strength: Minimum of 74,000 psi.
    • Hardness: Rockwell hardness ranges from B68 to C32.
  • Proof Load:
    • Coarse thread: 90,000 psi
    • Fine thread: 80,000 psi
  • Plating:
    • Hot-dip galvanized coating provides protection against moisture and corrosive environments, making these nuts suitable for outdoor applications and areas exposed to salt or other corrosive conditions
  • Applications/Advantages:
    • Grade 2 nuts are versatile and widely used in various applications when paired with low carbon bolts and screws. They are designed to withstand moderate loads while providing reliability in structural applications
